Early Release - Thursday, March 14
This Thursday, March 14, is an early release day for students. Students are dismissed at 1:35 p.m.
Parent-Teacher Conferences, Thursday, March 14
Parent-Teacher conferences are this Thursday evening, March 14, from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Please enter the school at Door #7 on the east side of the building. The conferences will be held in the cafeteria. Sessions will be limited to 7 ½ minutes when there is a waiting line.
Parent Access to Schoology (New) and PowerSchool
Parents can now set up an account in Schoology. Your child's Cavalier Connection teacher will soon be sending you an email with a Parent Access Code. Please see the attached letter for more information about Schoology and PowerSchool accounts. Instructions for setting up the Schoology account is embedded in the letter. You cannot set up the parent account until you receive the email with the Parent Access Code. Expect this email from your child's Cavalier Connection teacher in the next week or two.
A Message from the Counselor Regarding Course Selection for 2024-25
Current 6th and 7th graders will receive their course scheduling sheets on Wednesday, March 6, during Cavalier Connections. Completed sheets must be returned by Friday, March 15, to their Cavalier Connection teachers.
Mrs. Reda will visit Elmwood on Friday, March 22, to meet with 5th graders to help them select their courses for next school year. The scheduling sheets will come home with students that day and are due back to their teachers by Wednesday, April 8.

March is National Reading Month

Student Drop Off - Pick Up Safety Update
The bus lane is in the East parking lot. Cars should never block the bus lane for student drop off or pick up. There are parking spaces east of the bus lane. Cars parked in parking spaces must wait until all busses have cleared the bus lane before having your students enter the building. Students should never cross in front of or between ANY parked busses. Safety first!

Spring 2024 SLMS Swim Club
South Lake Middle School is offering a Spring 2024 SLMS swim club.
We are working on the details, but if you have any questions, please email [email protected]
Your SLMS student does not need to know how to swim but needs the desire to try!
The plan is to leave SLMS on a South Lake school bus at 3:20 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and take the bus to the high school pool.
Your middle school student must be picked up at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the season at door #5 on the SLHS driveway.
